Here’s an update about the Photographic Exhibition. It was a blast and complete success! Totally surpassed my goals by far.
I also want to give a special shout out to the MOB (mom owned business) Alliance that Aria created, specifically to the Portland and Hillsboro Chapters. This group has really helped me become part of the community on a personal level. As a solo entrepreneur I have found it to be pretty daunting to do a lot of the behind the scenes work after my portrait sessions like high end retouching, album design, writing for my blog and marketing on a social media, alone. I felt like a lone wolf before I came across this awesome group of inspiring women. Proud to say that now I have a tribe of super smart, strong, tenacious women that are here cheering for me to do more, dream big, jump higher and get things done!!!!. I’m so grateful that I met this amazing group that is changing our world and lives of our working mommas. This pact has really helped me draw out women with the same goals and frame of mind. I could not have done it without the support of them. Alana, Malini, Susan Bender, Tarrah Adams, Yamille, Virginia Reagan, Virginia Boone, Tiffany & Camian.
I’m very fortunate to have two amazing sisters Raquel and Mariangel that I could rely on. They are extremely creative too! #Bonus! They came a couple days before the show and during to help pull it together. I couldn’t be happier because those who cared, cared to come and I just wanted to give a special thank you to Anna Lee for literally taking over the food prep. She has this amazing get it done drive. Jennifer Turner also helped narrow down my focus on the art pieces I presented. Being a host was a huge task. There’s so many things that I learned that will help for the next event. You know I will do again and even better next time!!!!
I have to say that putting it together was the most difficult thing because we actually decided to remodel. Laying floors in and painting within six weeks. It called for most nights going to sleep at midnight and waking up at 6 AM for or several weeks in a row. So, I want to give a special thank you to the amazing men that lent their muscles and brain, my husband Alex and my son Caleb. Despite their work schedules they still gave that extra push and I’m very thankful for their hard work.
The artwork was very streamlined. I did pull out my personal collection of travel photographic artwork. Many of the pieces from Italy were a very big hit. We also booked several portrait sessions that night.
Having this event just reminds me that it’s not too much to dream big and do things that aren’t very common. You can host your own exhibition with tons of planning and grit. Dream big, aim higher and make it happen!
This special event was very private and if you missed it….well maybe next year!
