Bella was very clear about the fact that she wasn’t used to putting on make-up. The idea of wearing it was strange. She was so sure of herself. We made sure to put it on in a way that was very natural, just enough to enhance her features, that’s all. Anyhow, we took the time to do her hair. That was a special treat. Naturally she has these gorgeous curls, I’m not sure if it’s because she has Italian or Puerto Rican ties. I would have been good with the curls too but straightening is a nice treat when you want to try something different.
Her mom chose outfits for her and when she saw herself for the first time, she was so excited. When you can do something, like just adding a hint of makeup, it can totally make someone feel good. When she saw herself, she instantly said, “Wow! I can go to prom, mom I gotta go to prom!”
This young woman is so smart! She was already confident in herself. I think that being able to be sassy and confident is amazing. Has aspirations to do great things in life like either being a chef or a artist. She can cook gourmet meals, which I think is spectacular.
They went with the 10×10 book along with the digital negatives. She has a beautiful 16×20 museum quality image that she can put on her wall and a few fireplace mantel gifts for the family.
I love that she doesn’t let anything hold her back from doing what she wants. She doesn’t have any limits. It’s totally possible to accomplish amazing things when you put in the effort. I can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in life. I’m excited to check in with her and stay in touch with her family. To see how her journey unfolds. It looks promising. Bella is a force to be reckoned with.
